The lively and adorable Princess Hua Ling has been doted on since childhood. At seven, she loses her mother under tragic circumstances and follows her father to the northern frontier. Eleven years later, she returns to the capital, having become a young marshal renowned for her string of victories. She is now surrounded by an icy, aloof air that keeps people at a distance. Rumor has it throughout the capital that she is the bloodthirsty Demon Shura of Dashun’s borders.
“Her strange scent thirsts for blood and devours bones; she burns corpses and lays cities to waste, the Demon Shura.” Later rumors describe the bloodthirsty Demon Shura as having blue skin, fangs, a full beard, and standing nine feet tall. Clearly, the rumors can’t be trusted.
She is also the future Crown Princess, but as soon as she returns to the capital, she gets dragged into playing matchmaker and ends up botching a marriage...
“Crimson stains white silk; cold hues are locked behind deep walls. The manor lies amid plum blossoms, and plum blossoms bloom within its walls.” These lines describe the Prince of Yu’s residence, a magnificent sight in the capital’s bitter cold. Her father planted plum trees all over the manor, hoping to hold her mother’s hand and grow old together when the red plums bloomed beneath the snow.
Amid all the absurdity and swirling plum blossoms, she finally learns the truth: her mother loved peach blossoms in April, while the plum blossoms were the favorite of her mother’s twin sister, the Empress.
The writing style of this book is good overall, but the sense of substitution is not strong, which makes people feel like a bystander. I personally think that the story is not over yet, because there are still many things that have not been explained clearly. Maybe it is because of the different personality of the author that I have different ideas about the ending of the story!
This book is quite good, but it hasn't been updated, and it's a bit sad.
The female protagonist is a handsome young man who is very capable. As for the male protagonist, I feel a bit weak. He is a talent, but I feel like he is just a talent. The writing and narration of this book are very good. There are many narrative techniques. The ending feels a bit rushed. Many people have left the ending unexplained and feel that it is not finished. However, it is still worth reading. I have read more books and become more and more selective. However, I still read this book from beginning to end. I hope there will be an extra chapter. 🤓
I have read so many of this series, but I think this is the best one. I like the writing very much. I feel that this style is unusual. I love you.
It was quite beautiful, but I was a bit regretful that I didn't see them getting married in the end.
No more extras?
Not bad, but a little hard to understand
The extra story is both joyful and internally painful
