The Blind Woman: The Cold, Heartless Consort

She is blind, but beautiful and clever, ruthless and decisive. Her Soul-Seizing Melody is performed with such mastery that she can take a life while chatting and laughing. He is a resourceful prince, yet he cherishes her and loves her deeply.

Scene One:

“I don’t care what your relationship is. I want you to remember that you are my princess consort.”

She sneers and mocks him. “You know ours is only a deal. Why deceive yourself?”

Scene Two:

In the darkness, he takes her hand and tells her, “Don’t be afraid. Give me your hand. I’ll be your eyes.”

She isn’t afraid at all, yet her heart softens against her will.

Scene Three:

“Chu Yuan, you lying scoundrel! You said you’d protect me. How could you die before I did? Get up, now! Didn’t you ask whether I love you? I do! Get up!”

At the foot of the cliff, she clutches his blood-soaked body and sobs. With great difficulty, he manages a smile. “Shao’er, you finally said it.”
