I never used to believe in ghosts. Grandma knew about these things, but I always thought she was just too superstitious. This time, though, I was convinced. If I hadn’t encountered a ghost, how else could you explain the ghost money? I told Grandma exactly what had happened, and afterward she told me something, too. I’d heard about it before, but hearing her bring it up again helped me learn more than other people knew.
They say someone once drowned in Black Sand River, and the body was never recovered. People from several nearby villages still relied on the river to wash their clothes and bathe. From a distance, the water looked black, and the silt on the riverbed was black as well, hence the name Black Sand River. I have no idea how long the river is, nor when the hauntings began. But Grandma’s story about Zhao Tiezhu’s death has stayed with me ever since.
Very nice to watch, no plot that seems like cheating
