The protagonist, Lan Ruge, takes her younger brother to the hospital for treatment. Because she looks like Huo Zhengjun, the former lover of Xue Shao, president of the Xueyu Group, Xue Shao coerces her into becoming his wife and holds their wedding while she is burning with fever.
As they recite their vows, Lan Ruge’s boyfriend, Qu Junzhe, suddenly appears to stop the wedding. To keep Qu Junzhe from getting hurt, Lan Ruge is forced to agree to marry Xue Shao.
On their wedding night, Xue Shao calls Lan Ruge by Huo Zhengjun’s name. She struggles and injures herself, and only then does Xue Shao realize she has a fever.
