Yet the world was teeming with life, and monsters and demons were everywhere. Countless people committed crimes and misdeeds, hoping to exploit the might of heaven and earth for their own selfish ends. Others sought to break through the barriers between heaven and earth through cultivation and uncover its secrets. Thus came into being ghosts, gods, shamans, demons, immortals, and devils.
On the Tianxuan Continent, the Great Huang Dynasty was ruled by the sage emperor, who governed the realm. Yet he sought to bring the four outer territories under his control, hoping to achieve eternal life and become one of the Three Sovereign Emperors who ruled the Tianxuan Continent in ancient times.
Xiao Jue was merely the castoff son of the Xiao family, one of the Great Huang Dynasty’s eight noble houses. After he and his mother were framed, they were sent back to her family in Lieshan Commandery, the Wu family. But his maternal uncle had never liked them, and his mother was so miserable that she eventually died of illness at home. Xiao Jue was then driven out of the Wu family.
He wandered to Fengge City, where he found a fortuitous opportunity in the Dragonbone Mountains. Later, he joined the Lieshan Sect, learned the immortal arts, and began a legendary journey that would shake the ages.
