Deep in the Palace

In the eighth year of the Shengwu era of the Great Liang Dynasty, Emperor Ling Zhu died, and Crown Prince Ling Tong mysteriously vanished. Empress Shangguan Feng sought to proclaim herself emperor, but Prince Wu, Ling Feng, joined forces with his birth mother, Consort Shu, to kill the empress and ascend the throne, elevating Consort Shu to Empress Dowager. After stabilizing the court, Ling Feng went to the imperial mausoleum to offer sacrifices to Heaven. Tang Wan'er spotted her enemy within reach but was powerless to kill him, so she dressed to attract Ling Feng's attention. He was indeed captivated and forcibly took her from Ling Yun. After entering the palace, Tang Wan'er was made Consort Ning, and from then on she faced a precarious life in the harem. She feigned civility while matching wits with the empress and the other consorts, all the while gathering strength to assassinate Ling Feng. As her plan advanced step by step, Tang Wan'er suddenly realized that the truth was far from what she had expected. Was it a misunderstanding, or was this the truth?
