A Beauty in the Imperial Capital

Once you enter the palace gates, they are as deep as the sea.

From the moment Shen Jiayue entered the Eastern Palace, she knew she had secured a place for herself in this imperial city. She was a Consort of the Eastern Palace and also Consort Hui of the imperial harem. She was a "mistress" who cared for her servants, and a "concubine" who was gentle and virtuous.

She did not want to tread over blood to reach a splendid future. But at the edge of a pool of blood, all she had were a pair of embroidered shoes. The vivid bloodstains slowly soaked through her feet and seeped into her marrow.

She walked on, step by step. With every step, the danger grew.

In a world of shifting schemes and tangled intrigues, what could her struggles and tears bring her?

A little affection? A heart devoted to her?

Or a position above all others?

In this vast imperial city, there is one lovely woman who wishes only to remain by her lord's side and give him her whole life.
