She was the daughter of a prestigious family whose fortunes had taken a turn. All she wanted was to live out the rest of her life in peace. He was a high-ranking monk, aloof from worldly affairs, yet he stirred up storms among the powerful in the mortal world.
She went into the mountains to pray to Buddha, seeking shelter back in her hometown. To him, she seemed dull and ordinary. He roamed the world, waiting for his chance to seize power. To her, he had a strange temper.
But then an unexpected meeting and growing understanding between them... changed the course of both their lives...
She asked him, “I’m untalented, unvirtuous, and utterly ordinary. Master, do you have any regrets?”
He sighed. “I’m afraid it’s already too late.”
She snapped, “You wouldn’t dare take that back!”
He smiled. “This humble monk... wouldn’t dare.”
I really like the author's writing style. The parents tell stories in short and eloquent words. Everyone's character is so distinct and vivid on the page. I like every character in it. There are tears and laughter in it. It is really well written. I don't know why there is no rating? Is it because everyone doesn't know there is such a good book to read? I like the character of the heroine very much. I like this kind of girl who has been pampered by everyone. She is childish, naive and ignorant, optimistic, but not weak at all. She is very tenacious. She can distinguish between things to care about and things that do not require earning a high or low. She is really a very sensible and lovable girl 👍 I also read the book Gold Medal Little Maid and liked the author's writing style. I found it as much as ever!
I came here after reading the author's "The Little Maid". I really like the author's writing style and plan to take the time to read it.
The author writes very well, describing in various details the difficulties and difficulties faced by women at that time. The secret love between the heroine and the hero at the beginning, and the subsequent pain of lovesickness are very touching. Recommended for everyone to take a look.
This kind of short story told by parents is not bad, especially the author's writing style is good and it is very readable. I just don't like the ordinaryness of the heroine. She doesn't expect to strategize or get rich. At least she can protect herself. She is not as calm as the maid in times of trouble. Just like ourselves, we can't see the power of role models in her. The heroine can only be as good as she is, and she is very lucky to find a good match.
It's a pretty good book. It's eloquently told and gripping. It's a rare good book and worth reading.
This is an unintelligent but happy heroine. If you look carefully, you can see all kinds of shadows.
It's well written, plain and attractive, and I want to keep reading.
It's nice, but it's too short and leaves more to be desired
I have read two of the author's stories and they are very well written.
Very good! Why don't you give a rating?
