Journey to the West: Sun Wukong Asks If He'll Die

After transmigrating to the world of Journey to the West, Li Chang'an becomes a soldier at the South Heaven Gate and discovers that writing books can make him stronger.

One day, he encounters Sun Wukong at the South Heaven Gate, just after Sun Wukong has become Bimawen.

Sun Wukong sees the unfinished copy of Journey to the West.

Sun Wukong: "What happens to me in the end?"

Li Chang'an: "You obtain the true scriptures and become the Victorious Fighting Buddha!"

Sun Wukong shakes his head. "That won't be me. I'm already the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, so I don't need to become some Victorious Fighting Buddha. May I ask, sir, if I insist on not going to obtain the scriptures, will I die?"

From that day on, it seemed the world of Journey to the West had gone off course.

The Tathagata: "Have you made arrangements for Marshal Tianpeng? What do you mean, he took his eighty thousand naval troops and rebelled against Heaven? What about Tang Sanzang? You mean he became a Taoist priest? What would a bald monk want with Taoism? And the Curtain-Raising General? Surely nothing went wrong with him too? What? He ran off with the Queen Mother????"

The Tathagata was stunned. The Jade Emperor couldn't hold it in anymore. "Where's my wife?"

The world of Journey to the West had descended into complete chaos.

Li Chang'an says this has nothing to do with him. He's just a handsome, kindhearted, all-around good guy!
