Record of Ragnarok: I Am Hou Yi

Dayi was once a celestial god.

During the reign of Tang Yao, ten suns appeared in the sky, scorching the crops and burning up the vegetation. The common people had nothing left to eat. Yayu, Zaochi, Jiuying, Dafeng, Fengxi, and Xiushan were all monsters that preyed upon the people. So Yao ordered Yi to slay Zaochi in the wilds of Chouhua, kill Jiuying by the waters of Xiong, bring down Dafeng in the marshes of Qingqiu, and shoot down nine of the ten suns. He cut down Xiushan at Dongting and captured Fengxi in Sanglin.

For this, he was banished to the mortal realm after killing nine of the Heavenly Emperor's sons, and became an ordinary man.

Dayi lived out his life, growing old, falling ill, and dying.

Then one day, he was resurrected and would fight the gods to decide humanity's fate.
