Beginning My Escape from the Universe

The second installment of The Rise to Empire. In the Common Era, a band of interstellar raiders sets its sights on the Solar System, and humanity enters an apocalyptic age. With Earth on the brink of destruction, a mighty emperor named Luo Hong and his fourteen-person squad emerge from nowhere. They use power on a cosmic scale, sacrificing their souls in a self-destructing attack that reveals Earth's coordinates to the universe, thereby saving the planet from destruction at the hands of the space pirates. But the sun's destruction also sets Earth on the path of interstellar wandering.
