Heaven's Registrar of Souls

A Human Affairs Official is an official under the Heavenly Dao who oversees affairs in the mortal world. They are also the Heavenly Dao's emissary in the human realm. In ancient times, their main duties were to convey the heavens' decrees to the Heavenly Dao and report on the state of the mortal world. Among the Three Thousand Worlds, the Eastern world has fallen further and further into decline, while the Daoist sects and Heavenly Court have seen their incense offerings and worship dwindle.

My name is Wei Xian, a modern man in his early adulthood who wants nothing more than to retire. By chance, I inherited the position of Human Affairs Official through clothes passed down from my great-great-grandfather.

From then on...

"That's Zhu Houzhao. Old Yue, quick, tie him up and take him away."

"Brother Zheng, your bodyguard is called Gai Nie? A successor of the Guigu school?"

"Old Bai, stop drinking. Write twenty more poems. Baijiu has gotten more expensive lately."

"Senior brother, could you tell me if your disciple named Xiao Ye has the surname Wang?"
