Journey to the West: A Temp Worker Mistakes the Jade Emperor for His Father-in-Law

A thousand years ago, Lu Changsheng transmigrated to the world of Journey to the West. To survive, he spent all his time cultivating his defensive abilities.

He had his heart set on becoming an official in the Heavenly Court, but bad luck left him working as a temp for a thousand years.

A fortune-telling divination said his wife was ruining his career prospects. So Lu Changsheng decides to divorce her and confront his father-in-law, whom he has never even met!

Lu Changsheng: Dad, aren't you an executioner in the Heavenly Court? You've held such a lowly post for a thousand years and you're still not sick of it? Give it to me!

Jade Emperor: I'm not sick of it!

Lu Changsheng: Dad, help me pick a god to assassinate. Then I can take his job!

Jade Emperor: Kill Zhen Yuanzi!

Lu Changsheng: You're senile, old man. He's an unaffiliated immortal with no official position!

Jade Emperor: You should learn how to curry favor with the Jade Emperor...

Lu Changsheng: Dad, why are you even more of a demon magnet than Tang Sanzang? I've done all I can for you, son-in-law, but I can't manage you anymore. I'm going to embrace the Buddhist way of doing nothing...

Jade Emperor: Changsheng, wait...
