Those Legalists

Legalism is one of the hundreds of schools of thought. The Book of Han Dynasty and the Book of Arts and Literature list Legalism as one of the "Nine Streams". His school of thought put forward the concept of enriching the country, strengthening its military, and ruling the country by law. The origin of Legalist thought can be traced back to Guan Zhong and Zichan in the early Spring and Autumn Period. It was one of the prominent schools in the pre-Qin period. At the end of the Warring States Period, Han Feizi summarized the thoughts of the predecessors of Legalism and gathered the culmination of Legalism, bringing Legalist thought to a new height. The Legalist thought of governing the world by "no distinction between relatives and strangers, no distinction between high and low, and one who is bound by the law" had a profound influence on later generations of China.
