An Unofficial History of Journey to the West

Chen Xuanzang, a modern man, unexpectedly transmigrates into the world of Journey to the West. Monsters and demons run rampant here, and the Journey to the West is a perilous and arduous one. Relying on his hazy recollection of the 1983 TV adaptation of Journey to the West, he struggles to survive in this world. The only way to return to reality is to get the Moonlight Treasure Box, which is in Guanyin Bodhisattva's hands and coveted by various factions. Once he gets it, he can leave the world of Journey to the West and return to the modern world. But as he travels farther along the Journey to the West, he gradually uncovers a conspiracy. Can Buddhist scriptures really save all living beings? Will Heaven truly bless the people? Can all living beings really reach the Western Paradise? After Chen Xuanzang learns the truth, will he stay and become a Buddha, or escape from it all?...
