The Way of the Dao

I said, "You fat bastard, if you keep hesitating and don't go down, the online loan platforms will be spamming everyone in your contacts tomorrow. Your shining image in front of the hostesses at your club will be ruined."

The Fat Man was furious when he heard me. "Wasn't this all your doing? I was barely out of debt, and then you told me to take a chance, saying a bicycle could turn into a motorcycle."

I said, "Fine, fine, stop complaining and get down there." As soon as we climbed down, the Fat Man began muttering, "Boss, is this get-rich plan you've been researching for days really reliable?" "Absolutely. I've been researching it since college." Zhang the Fat Man asked, "Where did you research it?" "In the tomb-raiding novel Ghost Blows Out the Light. Haven't you read it? Get the candles ready." Zhang the Fat Man said, "You... why are you lighting candles?" "The book says that if the candle goes out, it means there's something filthy here." Zhang the Fat Man said, "Then should I turn off the flashlight?" I said, "Why turn it off? How are you supposed to see by candlelight?" I was also secretly wondering whether that novel was unreliable. This was nothing like the book. It was basically an expedition.
