Li Ruiqi is a soccer fan, and the son of Li Ming, a former national team player. A serious injury kept Li Ming from helping the national team qualify for the World Cup. He retired in bitterness and went on to coach youth soccer. Inspired by his father from a young age, Li Ruiqi loved soccer and inherited his father's talent. But after suffering a serious injury of his own, he began to distance himself from the sport. To get away from soccer, he chose the weak soccer team at No. 28 Middle School. But after the players there pulled a prank on him, Li Ruiqi found himself able to touch a soccer ball again. When Li Ming learned what was happening with his son, he got into a car accident on his way home from the school. This only made Li Ruiqi hate soccer even more. But while sorting through his father's belongings, Li Ruiqi came across the diary and photographs his father had kept every day, documenting his growth on the road to soccer. To fulfill his father's wish of leading their country's national team to the World Cup, he picked up the sport again.
