Synopsis

He Wen transmigrates to ancient times and becomes a little beggar who nearly starves to death. An old coroner saves him and teaches him the skills of examining corpses and solving cases.

Eleven years later, He Wen reports for duty at the county yamen.

The county magistrate says, "Xingzhi, go investigate the Fang family's Silver Theft and Murder Case."

The head constable of Wanfeng County says, "Brother, we'll be counting on you to examine corpses and solve cases from now on."

He Wen says, "Sure thing."

Watching He Wen, the eldest daughter of the Fang family orders her subordinate, "Go find out where this coroner came from."

The county magistrate says, "Xingzhi, could you take a look at this Jade Buddha Case at Shuiyin Temple? It's a case personally assigned by His Majesty, and quite exciting!"

After the Jade Buddha Case!

A highly skilled young monk from Shuiyin Temple tugs at He Wen's clothes. "Benefactor He, please help this humble monk find his mother!"

The Minister of the Court of Judicial Review glares at his subordinates. "You're all useless!"

The Minister of Justice says, "He Wen, you're very capable. Come work for the Ministry of Justice!"

He Wen says, "Thank you for the offer, sir, but I have to help the young monk find his mother!"

The empress looks at the young monk with a complicated expression.

He Wen raises an eyebrow. Something's not right!
