Lingyun Wanderer

Thousands of years ago, three peoples lived in this land: the Shajin, the Yuelan, and the Han.

The warlike Shajin once trampled the Central Plains beneath their iron hooves. They were invincible, conquered every foe, and established their capital in the imperial city, naming their nation Xuanyuan.

As time passed, the emperors of Xuanyuan grew increasingly tyrannical. The Han people rose up, overthrew their cruel rule, founded Lingyun, and drove the Xuanyuan regime back to the bitter cold of the far north.

At some point, the mysterious Yuelan people vanished. Some say Xuanyuan exterminated them in a campaign of conquest; others say a plague wiped them out.

Legend has it that before the founding emperor of Xuanyuan died, he left behind a mysterious treasure. Some say it was a mountain of gold; others say it was the secret to immortality. The tale spread far and wide among the people.

The story now reaches the reign of Emperor Baogeng, the fifth emperor of Lingyun. An unexpected natural disaster reignites the race to find the treasure.

Before long, a legend begins spreading through the martial world about a fiend who slaughtered everyone at the Liangzhou ghost market to get the treasure map. He was highly skilled in martial arts and carried a pitch-black sword. Some called him the Lingyun Wanderer; others said he was like a ghost and named him the Ghostborn Wanderer.
