Beiyang Sailor: I Want to Overthrow the Qing and Restore the Ming

In 1644, beneath an old, crooked-neck tree on Coal Hill in Beijing,

the desperate Emperor Zhu Youjian and his eunuch attendant Wang Cheng'en were preparing to take their own lives.

Just then, a man in strange clothes shot through the white silk that Zhu Youjian was about to use to hang himself.

“Get up. You are not allowed to die!”

“The Great Ming has not fallen yet. I want you to save all the people of this land!”

“And save me, too, from being killed by the Japanese two hundred and fifty years from now!”
