Against the Current

Everyone in the world turns back. Only I press on against the current.

Heaven and earth lose their color. Only I can move the cosmos.

Since ancient times, the Heavenly Dao has been merciless.

One sword, one thought, severing worldly affection. Only the heartless can approach the Heartless Dao.

A young man in white stood before a faintly visible gate, forty-nine feet tall, the corners of his mouth lifting slightly.

“I will carve a path to freedom for everyone in this world.”

Before his words had even faded, a sky-blue longsword appeared in his right hand.

The young man pointed his sword at the gate. A faceless visage appeared in its center. His sword quivered, and heaven and earth lost their color.

In an instant... the void collapsed, and all things fell silent. The faceless visage vanished as well. The barely visible gate had now opened a crack...

“The Heavenly Dao... Hah, nothing special.” The young man’s eyes were full of scorn. At some point, the longsword in his hand had turned to ash, and the man vanished with it...

The instant he disappeared, a vast torrent of spiritual energy from heaven and earth surged through the crack in the gate...
