South Crossing of the Ecliptic

On the Huangdao Continent, three powers stood in opposition.

Between the three kingdoms lay a snowy mountain called Zhuolang Mountain. South of it stood a Zhongtao Hall, home to a mage named Xinji.

Mage Xinji's mastery of magic was unparalleled. He had kept the world in awe for decades, and so the three kingdoms lived in peace.

But Mage Xinji was growing old, and he often ventured into the snowy peaks of Zhuolang Mountain in search of immortals and the Way. People suspected he would soon pass away.

At last, the king of the war-loving kingdom could no longer contain his restless ambition.

By some bizarre twist of fate, he hired a Taoist who practiced witchcraft and divination to curse Xinji and divine the future, intending to march south the day Xinji died and claim the entire Huangdao Continent for himself.
