Memoirs of the Merman Emperor

A farming-and-conquest story starring a goofy, lucky protagonist. The main character is an unusual vampire born in a gigantic vampire city. He looks like a merman, but is a genuine vampire.

His life was miserable, and no one cared about him, until the sudden appearance of a vampire girl brought a little light into it. The protagonist gradually found redemption. But at a crucial moment between life and death, he lost his nerve. He abandoned the girl and ran away in terror, too frightened to even look back.

The corrupt society branded him the culprit and drove him out of the vampire city. After an accidental adventure, he reached the outside world, where a similarly miserable merman tribe mistook him for their destined Merman King. Filled with regret and guilt, the protagonist decided to grow stronger. He and the merman tribe were of one mind, and so began a campaign to become even more powerful.
