Chronicles of Shenzhou: The Expansion Volume

Legends from ancient times, tales of the forebears.

Youchao taught humanity and gave people homes.

Suiren overcame hardship and taught people how to use fire.

Fuxi united the tribes and wiped out the demon beasts.

Then there was Shennong, who tasted a hundred *s, and Xuanyuan, who slew Chiyou.

The legends of the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors are all here.

In ancient times, newborn humanity had only just broken free from the shackles of ignorance. A hundred thousand demon beasts roamed unchecked, and the ghosts and gods of the eight directions were cruel and arrogant. The heavens and earth were cut off, with no roads connecting them, and floods raged, leaving the people in misery. The common folk were captured by demon beasts, sacrificed to ghosts and gods, or left to wander in fear, fleeing floods and droughts. Even those lucky enough to survive knew nothing of the seasons, could not distinguish the five grains, and knew nothing of the hundred *s. They had no way to farm for food, and even the slightest wound on their skin would not heal. All they could do was sit and await death.

"And so our story begins."
