The Feng Shui Healer

My name is Tian Qi. I'm a traveling physician, and also... a Maoshan Taoist!

About half a month ago, an old friend from my school days suddenly messaged me on WeChat. He said his son had heatstroke and had been running a fever and coughing for four days with no improvement. He asked what he should do, and sent me a thousand yuan as a... He said he'd send me another nine thousand if I cured the boy, making it ten thousand yuan in all. That's no small sum in the countryside.

My friend's name is Deng Bo. We went to elementary school together. Later, his family came into a windfall and moved to the city. We gradually lost touch. This was the first time he'd contacted me on his own since getting married. His son was already seven years old. During summer vacation, the boy came back to the countryside with his cousin to visit, and I saw him then.

He had only just gone back home. But as soon as he got there, he fell ill. First, he couldn't eat and developed a fever, with his upper body hot and his lower body cold. Then he started coughing nonstop, day and night, so hard it felt like the earth was shaking.

As soon as I heard that, I knew this wasn't an illness, but... a ghost possessing him!
