Journey to the West: I Reap Ten Thousand Souls in the Underworld to Become a Sage

Yang Ming transmigrates to the Primordial World during the era of Journey to the West.

He becomes a low-ranking ghost officer in charge of the Department of Retribution, one of the Seventy-Two Departments of the Underworld, and is assigned to guard the Mirror of Sins.

Whenever the Mirror of Sins reveals someone's crimes, he must record them in the Book of Retribution so the judge can pass sentence.

Faced with powerful ghosts from countless races, Yang Ming panics. This is a world of cultivation. If the ghosts grow strong through cultivation, recover their memories, and come back for revenge, won't sentencing them get him killed?

Fortunately, he activates the Register of Ten Thousand Souls. By hooking a wisp of a soul, he can light up an entry in the register and claim a reward.

Just then, Yang Ming spots a woman lingering beside the Mirror of Sins. To activate the register, he forcibly drags her over to have her sins revealed, secretly hooking a wisp of her soul in the process.

"Ding! Congratulations, Host! You have hooked a wisp of Lady Pingxin's soul. The register is activated. You have gained control of the Six Paths of Reincarnation, the Netherworld Dao Body, and Ancestral Witch bloodline!"

The woman reveals her true identity: Lady Pingxin!

Yang Ming is stunned. Did I just hook the soul of Lady Pingxin, ruler of the Underworld?
