Against the Current in the Land of the Three Kingdoms

I once served as a *man in Sanbei, watching the river flow west.

I leapt onto my horse and cried, "The Book of Songs says, 'Without clothes?'" I knocked at the hidden pass and entered Fancheng, riding across the borderlands of Ji. The bloodshed near Gaotang had not ended, and I still grieved for the old towers of Qingzhou.

The southern wind stirred old memories. How many sorrows did it blow up in Yizhou? The cold wind ****, barbarians rose in the north, and the fighting never ceased.

Three thousand sets of armor, and a dream of founding a dynasty. I drained the wine in my cup.

The wine is not yet gone, the cup not yet empty. Two years of splendor passed, only for everything to return as before. I look upon ten thousand miles of mortal dust, all turned to scorched earth. I think of leaving, of those gone before me! Their souls return in dreams! Dreams!

I changed into a monk's robe and saw no true meaning in all the world. Alas! My old friends remain as they were. Time turns back, and I wish to be with my brothers.

Let us drain every cup of wine.
