Late Ming: I Become a Resistance Fighter Against the Qing

The emperor guards the nation's gates; the king dies for his realm.

Wear the robes of Han, marry a Han man.

In our Great Ming, every woman, rich or poor, may wear the imperial robes, phoenix crown, and bridal cape on her wedding day.

Our Great Ming cedes no land, pays no tribute, and sends no princesses to marry foreign rulers!

In 1645, after the Tartars entered the pass, they imposed a queue order in the occupied regions: “Keep your hair, lose your head; keep your head, lose your hair.”

In response, one hundred thousand people in Jiangyin rose up against the Qing, holding the county seat for eighty-one days until the city fell.

As the city was breached, the defending general took up his brush and wrote a stirring poem of martyrdom:

For eighty days, we served loyally with our hair uncut, honoring the people of the seventeen reigns since the Great Ancestor.

A hundred thousand people united in death, preserving three hundred li of the Great Ming's territory!

Just as everyone had lost all hope, tens of thousands of troops appeared behind the Qing army.

Ye Chen: “Brothers! Wipe out these damn Tartars for me!…”
