Journey to the West: My Buddha Light Shines for Miles, and You're Telling Me This Is the Lesser Thunderclap Temple?

Also known as: I've become the true Buddha of this world, and you're telling me this isn't the Western Paradise?

In the Primordial World of Journey to the West, Buddhism is flourishing.

The various demons originally assigned to the Eighty-One Tribulations are being hunted down and captured by the Buddhist sect.

By chance, Fu Xuan is swept by a wave from Northern Jambudvipa to the Lesser Thunderclap Temple in the Western Ox Continent.

He arrives with a mission:

To cultivate as a lay Buddhist and serve as the abbot.

And to spread his own Buddhist teachings.

Looking at the words "Thunderclap Monastery," Fu Xuan encounters a monk.

The monk tells him that he is the chosen one and asks him to become the abbot.

At Thunderclap Monastery, Buddhas from all walks of life, Guanyin Bodhisattva, and the Buddha of the East gather together.

To help Tang Sanzang reach Thunderclap Monastery, Fu Xuan suggests sending the Buddhas to help him.

And just as Fu Xuan's Buddha-light blazes across the heavens,

one who was once a Buddha suddenly transforms, revealing himself to be the Yellow-Browed Monster, an attendant of the Buddha of the East.

Yellow Brow: "My Buddha, take a good look. Who am I?"
