I Transmigrated to the Later Zhou Dynasty to Save Emperor Shizong

Li Yun transmigrates to the era of Chai Rong of the Later Zhou. Using a little nursing know-how, he saves Emperor Shizong of Zhou from the brink of death and witnesses this great ruler of the Five Dynasties reclaim the Yan and Yun regions.

Deeply trusted by Chai Rong, Li Yun goes on to help his lord reform the Later Zhou army. He rejects the Northern Song system that places too much emphasis on civil officials and neglects the military, instead building a force based on the old Han and Tang systems: a small standing army supported by a large body of conscripts.
