Both a Dream and a Legend

Drunk, he raises a lamp to gaze at his sword, dreaming of the bugles sounding through camp after camp. Troops assemble on the battlefield, swords ring, horses whinny, and blades flash. Now it has all vanished like smoke before his eyes, swept away by wind and rain.

Pages of absurdity, and all before him a blur. Lords and generals, shamans and healers, musicians, farmers, craftsmen, and merchants. Nothing but a bustling crowd, coming and going!

When he wakes from his dream, it is the early Tang Dynasty.

Look! The legend begins!
