Shell Travel Notes is the abbreviation of "a daily record of life in the game world that begins to explore the world with the purpose of earning shells". The story tells that humans have created a virtual world of online games. In this world, alien life forms can think and act like humans. The story begins with the five masters and disciples: Tang Seng, Sun Wukong, Sha Monk, Zhu Bajie, and Xiao Bailong. The five of them are based on the characters and backgrounds in Journey to the West, so their relationships have been set from the beginning. Tang Seng and the others were exorcising demons while collecting currency shells on the road. This novel and its characters are purely fictitious.
