Later Zhou: The Rise of the Human Race

On the ancient Primordial Continent, there was a race called humankind. Humans had neither the magic of elves nor the physique of beastfolk. Their lifespans were shorter than those of most races. Yet this physically frail race once rose above all others through its own strength.

The strong hone their claws and fangs; the weak rely on their wits.

While the other races relied on their innate gifts and waged war against one another, the sages of humanity developed Imperial Armaments. Through ingenuity and strategy, they rose from tribes to kingdoms, then empires, and ultimately became rulers of the continent.

They even named the continent after their empire, Taichu.

After both sides were left gravely wounded in a war against another powerful enemy, the Divine Race, humanity was forced to leave the Primordial Continent to ensure its survival, and settled on the Shanhai Continent.

Ten thousand years passed, and the world had changed beyond recognition. The Shanhai Continent had seen two unified empires, Taichu and Great Zhou. As Great Zhou declined, the realm fell into chaos and the feudal lords fought among themselves, while the myriad races pulled the strings from behind the scenes.

The story begins in the state of Qian, one of the feudal states...
