Urban: At Huguo Temple, Persuading People to Do Good from the Start

Jing Kong lived at the Temple for the Protection of the Nation for eighteen years.

One day, he came down from the mountain and awakened the Good Deeds Encouragement System. From then on, everything changed.

"Benefactor, did you steal this gold phone or this silver one?"

Jing Kong held the thief by the shoulder, his face kind and compassionate, like the Buddha himself.

The thief fell to his knees and begged for mercy. "Master, I stole both of them."

"Please spare me, Master! I swear I'll be a good person from now on!"

Jing Kong sighed calmly. "Foolish child, you've got it wrong! It's not me who should spare you, but you who should spare yourself."

"This humble monk is merely using the truth to encourage you to do good deeds and build up merit."

With that, he brought his palm down. The thief's face swelled up on one side, and he burst into tears on the spot.

The truth really hurts!
