Cao Cao in a Time of Chaos

Some call me a capable minister in times of peace and a hero in times of chaos. Others curse me as a treacherous usurper who stole the Liu family's empire. I upheld the Han dynasty and devoted my life to it, assassinated Dong Zhuo, destroyed Yuan Shao, campaigned north against the Wuhuan, and unified the north. Which of these deeds betrayed the sons of Han?

I gave counsel on affairs of state and stirred hearts with my words. I became Chancellor and was made Prince of Wei, my achievements so great they overshadowed the throne. All I wanted was to be like the Duke of Zhou, who spat out his food to welcome guests and won the people's hearts. To my dying day, I never took that final step.

I have lived without shame before my conscience or heaven and earth. I have always stood upright and walked the straight path. Let posterity judge right and wrong as it will!
