Journey to the West: Beginning with Chang'e's Death

The fifteenth day of the eighth month should be a time for families to reunite, a day of celebration!

Yet Guanghan Palace is unusually desolate. A bitter, chilling sorrow hangs in the air...

Sun Wukong gazes at the corpse hanging beneath the osmanthus tree, his heart a tangle of emotions.

Chang'e had been so particular about her appearance and so beautiful in life. How could she have hanged herself here? How could she have allowed herself to leave this world in such a way?

This is an adaptation of Journey to the West told from the perspective of a local character. There is no System, no transmigration, and no being reborn...
