Hongmeng: The General's Volume

Xu Qingwan, an office worker, happened upon a thousand-year-old lotus seed at the White-Robed Nunnery in her hometown of Tangcheng. After going through countless hardships to revive it, she never expected the lotus to bloom on the Ghost Festival and transform into a transcendent, otherworldly man.

The man was once a wisp of the soul of Master Yinkong, who lived a thousand years ago. His tear of love fell upon the lotus seed, allowing him to lodge his soul in the red lotus. He had waited for the chance to enter the world and save his lover, who had been bound by a punitive seal a thousand years ago.

However, the Eye of Hongmeng in this world is about to open, and all living beings face a new catastrophe.

The Thousand Lotuses of Hongmeng follows Xiao Lian, a thousand-year-old lotus demon who has shed his Buddhist soul. As he travels with the heroine Xu Qingwan, he matches wits with all kinds of sorcerers, demons, gods, and others, while coming to understand the fragility and cruelty of life. Starting as a blank slate, he gradually matures. Though born a demon, he sets his sights on becoming a god, hoping to change the fate of himself and all living beings.
