The First Merchant of the Great Tang

When Ye Lingyun wakes up, he discovers that he has transmigrated to another world and become the notorious third young master of the Ye family in Chang'an, a spoiled heir from a wealthy family.

His father, Ye Wuhen, is getting ready to send him up the mountain to a sect to cultivate immortality and pursue the Dao.

Ye Lingyun couldn't be less willing. He had finally escaped the miserable life of getting by on buy-now-pay-later credit, and at last had such a prestigious family background. Why not enjoy this colorful world to the fullest? What was the point of going off to live in the mountains?

To starve?

"Ding! You have activated the God-Tier Shop."

Ye Lingyun turns around and walks into his family's restaurant. "I hear you're famous for holding your liquor. Ever tried Erguotou? Here, let's have a couple of bowls."

"I hear your sect's sword techniques have been lost for a hundred years. No worries. As long as you can afford them, I have them all, and I can even offer you something better."

While everyone else cultivates immortality and pursues the Dao, Ye Lingyun is hopelessly engrossed in making money.

Everyone knows Chang'an, the capital of Great Tang, is home to a spoiled young master who has no interest in literature or military strategy, nor in cultivating immortality and pursuing the Dao. All he wants is to do business.
