Great Tang: Leading the Noble Clans in an Assault on Xuanwu Gate from the Start

After transmigrating as Li Chengqian, Crown Prince of the Tang Dynasty, he gradually lost his father's favor. His younger brothers coveted his position, and calls to depose him grew louder throughout the court.

Then the truth came out: he had tried to assassinate his younger brother. His supporters filed in one after another, discussing how they could follow Li Er's example and stage another Xuanwu Gate Incident.

Knowing full well that his unreliable allies stood no chance against Li Er, a seasoned rebel, was he supposed to just sit there and wait to die?

No. Since coming to this era, he had never planned to settle for being a mere prince.

Li Chengqian paid a night visit to the foremost of the Five Surnames and Seven Clans. This enormous aristocratic clan slowly bared its claws.

"Father, abdicate. You can rest easy knowing the Tang Dynasty is in my hands."

A few months later, deep within the palace, Li Er heard that a Goguryeo city had fallen and its king had killed himself.

A year later, while playing chess with Li Yuan, Li Er remarked that even the mighty Tubo had been no match for the Tang army in battle.

Years later, as Li Er lay dying, he cried out,

"I am not as good as my son. Long live the Tang Dynasty!"
