Chan Wuji

In the desolate Gobi of the wild northwest, at the foot of Qishan Mountain, Chan Family Village lives peacefully, nourished by the waters of the snowy mountains. In the first year of the Daoguang reign, an abandoned orphan, a person who should never have appeared in this world, shatters that tranquility. A stone shaped like the Taiji symbol summons into him the Daoist and Buddhist roots that were meant to enter the mortal world and cultivate. Those roots, transcendent and beyond the Six Paths, would escape the suffering of reincarnation if they cultivated a golden body and attained Buddhahood in this life, or attained the Dao and became immortals in the next. Yet, summoned by a stone, they have no choice but to attach themselves to that abandoned child. Thus, a Daoist, a Buddhist, and a mortal begin a journey to realize the Dao, find liberation, and search for themselves, while also uncovering a secret buried in Chan Family Village for a thousand years.
