I'm a Witch

There are three thousand roads through the mortal world, and you and I are all just passing through. The world is fickle, and all who travel its paths are people burdened by misfortune. Since ancient times, immortals have fallen in love with humans, and demons with humans. There were Bai Suzhen and Xu Xian, the Seventh Fairy and Dong Yong, and all manner of ghosts and demons in Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio. In every case, it was a fairy, demoness, or ghost who fell for a mortal man. Why are there so few stories of mortal women falling in love with male immortals, demons, or ghosts? Perhaps those men know that loving a mortal woman will ultimately come to nothing, and that cultivation is hard-won, so they avoid getting too entangled with mortal women. It seems that whether human or demon, men are more rational than women.
