Great Tang: I Said Li Er Would Rebel, So How Is That Spoiling the Plot?

Cheng Yan: "I told you Li Er was going to rebel. How did that count as a spoiler? Did you really have to make me guard the gate at Xuanwu Gate?"

By some bizarre twist, Cheng Yan became the guard at Xuanwu Gate just before the Xuanwu Gate Incident. There was only one month left until it happened.

Fortunately, he had bound himself to the Strongest Security Guard System, so he could lie low and develop in secret.

Li Shimin: "I need a pass to enter my own home?"

Cheng Yan: "How am I supposed to know who you are without a pass? Move along."

Cheng Yaojin: "I'm going into the palace. Get out of my way."

Cheng Yan: "Please prove you're not an impostor."

Cheng Yaojin: "I'm your father!"

A month later, when Li Shimin, preparing to launch a coup, saw Xuanwu Gate built entirely of reinforced concrete, he was utterly despairing.
