Great Qin: From the Start, I Save the First Emperor and Become an Unrivaled Statesman

Transmigrating to the Qin dynasty, Hao Yun becomes the leader of a merchant caravan and accidentally rescues the First Emperor after he falls into the water.

The First Emperor is touring the empire when a sudden flood strikes as he passes through the Xiang River region. He blames the goddess of the Xiang River.

Zhao Gao says, "Your Majesty, the flood is the fault of the goddess of the Xiang River. We can cut down the trees on Mount Xiang to punish her!"

Hao Yun says, "There are no ghosts or gods in this world. Cutting down the trees will only worsen soil erosion and the flooding. To control floods, you have to control the sand."

But Zhao Gao insists on cutting down the trees, and a flood breaks out, submerging the city...

The First Emperor asks, "The officials want to restore the enfeoffment system under the Zhou rites. What do you think?"

Hao Yun replies, "Heh, it's just an excuse for the officials' greed. The Zhou dynasty fell after eight hundred years because of enfeoffment. They were raising tigers that would turn on them!"

The First Emperor says, "Everyone says I govern tyrannically, building the Great Wall through massive labor projects and forcing convicts from the Six Kingdoms to work..."

Hao Yun says, "Fine, don't make them do forced labor. Send the convicts from the Six Kingdoms to conquer the Xiongnu instead."
