The All-Around Power Forward, Starting in 2002

The 2002 NCAA season came to a close, with the Duke Blue Devils emerging as the ultimate winners.

Jason Williams won MOP. Liu Lei, a 19-year-old boy from China, was named Rookie of the Year. His season averages of 20+10+9+5 propelled him into the lottery of the 2002 draft.

He edged out Amare Stoudemire to become the Suns' core on both offense and defense in the paint.

Two years later, the return of the "Son of the Wind," Steve Nash, gave rise to the Phoenix Run and Gun. A dynasty belonging to Phoenix had arrived!
