This Cultivator Is Far Too Unyielding

A hot-blooded, hard-headed young man who loves to face everything head-on, in a cultivation world overrun by powerful demons and beasts. If he doesn't start at max level, it'll be hard enough just to keep the protagonist alive through the first three chapters. How can we make him keep charging ahead without it feeling forced? How do we write this?!
