The protagonist, Shen Jialin, is an ordinary food delivery guy with an ordinary identity and an ordinary family background. He barely makes it from paycheck to paycheck, but he has a secret dream: Ultraman.
Ever since childhood, he has firmly believed that Ultraman exists, only in a different dimension, and that they fight for love and peace.
Then one dark and stormy night, a sudden bolt of lightning turns out to be a blessing in disguise, pushing his brain to its limits. He begins conducting secret experiments and discovers that the Light of the Earth and the Light of the Ocean meet once every 5,000 years. This is, in fact, a sign of Earth's impending cataclysm.
And so the first Ultraman is born in the real world: Gaeru Ultraman.
