The Pink Hat

College student Zu Yihe seems to have hit puberty and her rebellious phase a little later than everyone else her age. In high school, while other girls were flirting, dieting, and acting out, she was doing practice problems and watching anime. At college, while other girls were dating, dieting, and making best friends, she was being capricious, melodramatic, and stirring up conflict. It seems her rebelliousness and lack of social graces were drowned out in a sea of textbooks, only to reveal their ugly truth little by little once she reached college. Until she met him. The boy she called "Pink Hat." The boy she saw in the night, beneath the dim lights of a cafe, wearing a brightly colored or pastel-pink hat. He changed her life and the way she saw the world completely. Was meeting him a misfortune or a blessing? It's too soon to say. Youth is long, and time moves slowly. For the rest of their lives, they'll take things one step at a time.
