Great Tang: Chewing Out Li Shimin from the Start

In the ninth year of Wude, the blood on Xuanwu Gate had not yet dried. Jieli Khan's army of a hundred thousand faced Chang'an across the Wei River, and the empire's vast realm teetered on the brink of disaster.

At this critical moment, Su Yan transmigrated into the body of a low-ranking censor serving at court.

A lowly censor could wield power that reached the heavens: he could impeach local officials below and even the emperor himself above.

To end the threat posed by the hundred thousand foreign troops on the banks of the Wei River, the assembled court officials proposed all sorts of humiliating treaties that would surrender the nation's sovereignty.

Hearing this, Su Yan flew into a rage and submitted three impeachments!

"My first impeachment is against Cheng Yaojin, Great General of the Right Martial Guard..."

"My second is against Chancellor Changsun Wuji..."

"My third is against His Majesty, Li Shimin..."

The assembled officials all drew sharp breaths.

Had Su Yan gone mad? Impeaching Great General Cheng Yaojin and Chancellor Changsun Wuji was one thing, but he even dared to impeach the emperor.

Wasn't he afraid of dying?
