Great Tang: From the Start, the Retired Emperor Tries to Scam Me

After the Xuanwu Gate Incident, Old Li was having a miserable time locked up in the imperial palace. So he set a fire and escaped in the chaos, then threw himself in front of Wang Xiao's horse in the street.

Old Li: "Your horse ran me over, so you're responsible for me now! I'm an old bachelor with no family. You can support me in my old age!"

Magistrate Di: "I have investigated the case. The young man is entirely at fault and must treat the old man and compensate him for all his losses!"

Wang Xiao: "What have I done to deserve this? I'm only sixteen! My life hasn't even really begun, and now I'm expected to work for this old geezer for the rest of my life?"

Li Er: "Boy, your talents in both civil and military arts are among the finest in the world. Would you like to serve in the imperial court as a high official and benefit the people?"

Crown Prince Li Chengqian: "Wang Xiao, join me in rebellion. I'll make you a prince with a different surname, and you'll enjoy wealth and honor for generations to come!"

Empress Zhangsun: "Little brother Xiao, your Dream of the Red Chamber is wonderful. I love it! Could you write another book like it?"

Wang Xiao: "Such is life..."
