Great Tang: A Wedding to Bring Good Fortune from the Start

In the first year of the Zhenguan era, Chu Xuan transmigrated to the Tang dynasty and became the leader of a band of mountain bandits. Thanks to the knowledge he brought from his previous life, his stronghold was doing quite well.

Just then, the long-awaited System finally appeared, but it came with a condition: he had to do a good deed to activate it.

As it happened, a widow at the foot of the mountain had recently been listless and sickly. The villagers all said she needed to marry someone to bring her good fortune and cure her illness.

Chu Xuan immediately took charge of the matter. He went down the mountain and kidnapped a merchant known as Old Li, then beat him until he finally gave in.

When word of this reached Chang'an, it caused an uproar.

Li Er: "Nobody stop me! As the Son of Heaven, I should care for my people. I'm willing to help this widow find good fortune through marriage."

Then Li Er looked at Chu Xuan with a goofy grin. I've made this much of a sacrifice, so are you coming down from the mountain or not?

Chu Xuan replied, "I've been having a run of bad luck lately too. I've taken a fancy to someone named Changsun. How about Old Li steps in...?"
